Pre-Natal Yoga
Discovering yoga through your pregnancy is a wonderful
experience. As your body changes and new life grows within you, yoga can help
bring your mind and body into balance. This can be a tremendously grounding
experience. Some benefits of pre-natal yoga include:
- Fewer aches and pains, increased muscle tone, improved
posture, and wellbeing from stretching and strengthening muscles.
- Stress and tension relief by training your body to
relax. This can be especially helpful during labour.
- Enhancing energy and relaxation by focusing on
breathing and meditation. These practices help prepare for labour and
delivery.
- Developing a strong connection with your baby!
Classes are one and a half hours long and include guided
meditation, use of mantras, breathing and relaxation techniques, and active and
passive physical postures.
Pre-natal classes are suitable for women who are more than
13 weeks pregnant right until their due dates. However, we advise you to begin
classes before the 32nd week of pregnancy. Contact us if you would like to
start after your 32nd week.
Mom and Baby Yoga
Your baby has most certainly transformed your life, and
yoga can be a wonderful way to help enhance this transition. Many women are
able practice gentle yoga soon after giving birth.. Mom and Baby yoga classes
are designed for mothers and babies too.
Stretch, strengthen, relax and meditate with your baby.
Babies find touch comforting and yoga helps encourage natural flexibility and
growth. Moms work on getting their bodies back to pre --pregnancy shape.
- Enhance non-verbal communicate to enhance your bonding
and relaxation time.
- Make new friends join other women facing the
same challenges you are. Gain important moral support and a sense of community.
Babies should be at least 8 weeks old before joining a Mom
& Baby Yoga class. Classes are suitable for babies up to crawling age.
Classes will run in 6 week sessions for both Pre-natal and
Mom and Baby Yoga.
- Pre-Natal Classes: Mondays 5:00 6:30 pm
- Mom and Baby Classes: Tuesdays 9:45 - 10:45 am
