Radiant Child Program with Brenda Daly

The Radiant Child Program was founded by Shakta Kaur Khalsa, a Montessori educator and certified Kundalini yoga instructor. It is an internationally known program that helps children to celebrate "self" with awareness by practicing asanas, mudras, mantras, simple breath work and meditation. Games, yoga activities, songs, snack time and sharing make it fun!

Brenda began her practice with Kripalu and then quickly led into Kundalini Yoga .  I have taken various workshops in many styles and have embraced the concept of interconnecting all styles with an attitude of Oneness. She has completed two levels of teacher training of  the Radiant Child Yoga Program in Vancouver at Yoga West.  Her background is in early childhood education and I have worked with children as a pre-schooler educator and leader in various jobs for the past twenty-five years.  The past many years have also provided her with opportunities to explore Healing Touch, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Relaxation Massage, Holistic healing / arts, Buddhism and Meditation.  She owns Birdsong Photography (healing imagery) and Wellness in the West Woods. Mindfulness, compassion, selfless service and having an Open heart are the foundations of her yoga practice.

Radiant Child Yoga is offered in 8 and 10 week sessions on Thursdays between 3:30-4:30 pm. Please contact Brenda for more details. 250.964.0948.

Dancing for Birth with Cindy Black

Dancing for Birth™ classes will help you develop an ease with your pregnant body, while both mentally and physically becoming ready to embrace your unique birth experience. Dancing can help you become stronger, more graceful, and increase your agility. At the same time you’ll learn valuable childbirth preparation skills and natural pain coping techniques that will build your confidence in your own birthing ability. A sense of community is created within the group that gives you a safe place to be heard and celebrated. No dancing experience is necessary! You’ll learn moves inspired by Belly dance, African dance, Latin dance and interpretive movement. It’s a feel-good workout that challenges yet relaxes you. Dancing for Birth™ classes gives you a way to connect with other mothers in our community. Together we celebrate a mother’s rite of passage through birth. Wear your Baby while you dance! After your baby is born use Dancing for Birth™ classes to tone and regain your shape more quickly and effectively. Babies love the motion of dancing and are easily soothed by being held while you dance. Your baby will gain core strength and balance by responding to your movements. Come discover your inner dancer and prepare for the birth you want!

Cindy is the mother of three magnificent and energetic children. She runs a daycare from her home and also has a background in Photography. She is a certified Birth Doula with DONA International and a Certified Dancing for Birth TM Instructor.  Her passion around birth grew with the birth of each of her own children.  This lead her towards the path of helping women find their own voice, leaving them feeling empowered and in creating a sense of community that is missing from so many of our lives.

Classes are on Fridays from 7:00-8:30 pm (they run in 6 week sessions). Contact Cindy to register (250.564.9605).
